Cross Equals Love

Easter is the time of year we remember, how much God passionately loves us.  He sent his son Jesus to live and walk among us, a sin free man, a blemish free sacrifice, to die a painful death taking on all our sin, so we can have the opportunity to be restored in a relationship with God.  Through Jesus, our sins have already been paid, we are forgiven.  Isn't it amazing to know someone loved you so much, that he would die for you, that you may live.  You are loved, beyond anything that you could even imagine.

If you declare with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.  Romans 10:9

Coffee!!!

It's been a busy week with limited sleep and coffee, which is kind of a staple in my life.  I took my Mum to emergency on Saturday night after a 7 hour shift at work, I didn't get to sleep until 9am the next morning (when I slept for 3 hours).  Some people might be like I have 3 hours sleep a night, not me!  I survive on a minimum of 8 hours.  It has been a busy week with Mum in and out of surgery and hospital and appointments.  She is also on rest which means there is lots to be done at home.  We have had amazing support from her Church with meals, cleaning and transport but there is still the extra little things that need to be done.  It is coming up to midway in the semester and all the assignments are due in the next week.  Plus work, you know, to make money just to live and pay the mortgage, just minor things like that.  So its been a busy week, emotionally, mentally and physically draining, late nights and lots of coffee!

Noah - the movie experience

Reposted from my Facebook wall from last Thursday.

Tonight I went to see the new movie Noah (appropriate weather if you live in Brisbane!). It is definitely a creative, Hollywood interpretation of epic proportions. On returning home tonight I reread the biblical story of Noah's life in Genesis 5 though 9. There were definitely no rock monsters in this version!!!

I appreciated reading this article. Despite the movie producers using their creative licence, I believe biblical events translated to film should be welcomed as an opportunity to enter into conversation about the biblical truths. This is definitely the case with Noah.

My opinion on the movie, apart from the creative storytelling, was still a little mixed. There was a lot of violence which is not my thing and definitely not something you should take kids to see. However, there were some beautiful, heartfelt moments, stunning landscapes and some amazing special effects. I would recommend seeing this film even if it is just to open into the conversation.

Forever I'll Sing

Tonight I came across a video on You Tube entitled 'A Scandal Called Grace: Carl Lentz' on the channel TFHNYtv.  I had never heard of The Fathers House however I have heard of Carl Lentz and was interested to hear him preach for the first time.  I had heard what an amazing man of faith he is and have heard many amazing stories coming out out his church in NYC.  But I had never actually heard this tattoo covered, leather wearing Pastor from NYC preach.  And what an amazing influence he is on the lives of everyday people.  He speaks the gospel in a way that is relevant and real and impacting. What amazing influence this man of God has!

I want a heart that runs after God.  I want to press into God.  I want to know him more and reflect Jesus to the world.  This is my pray.
